For those who don’t know who you are tell us about you:

I am Dexter Thibou aka unkleDEX founder, owner and CEO of Diamond Village Enterprises and sole blogger on “i am unkleDEX!” at diamondvillage.blogspot.com. Born in Trinidad, resided in Brooklyn NY where I was a Recording Engineer at D&D Recording for DJ Premier, Da Beatminerz, ShowBiz, Diamond D and many other notable Hip Hop and RnB producers. I also resided in CA where I worked for KAOS Entertainment, a production company outsourced by The Discovery Channel, where I worked on the TV series “Mega Machines” and “The World’s Best“. Currently I reside in Lawrenceville,GA, where I still engineer part time and I am also partner and co- owner of Pickininny Records based out of Paris, France. Oh yeah and I’m your big brother!

What made you want to start blogging? Why?
For years people would ask me what it was like to work with the artists I’ve worked with. I finally decided that it would make sense to share my experiences with those who wanted to know what really went on behind the scenes of the music biz and what it took to make the classic Hip Hop albums of the ’90′s era. People are fascinated by the goings on’s of so called celebrities, which I find amazing. I was fortunate enough to have worked with who I worked with, and to see what I’ve seen. Sharing these experiences is just my way of giving back I guess. Plus it’s fun to relive those things at times, gives you perspective on where you’ve been, where you’re at and where you are headed to.

We Are The Misfortunate Sons
- Accidents

First of all thank you for your time, and how are you doing today?
Top notch, other than 3 of the 5 of us are wandering nomadic homeless folks, since we don’t have a place to live. Don’t fret though, we move in this weekend.

Who is in your band? Tell us the line up:
Well, well, well. Garrett Vernon is our vocalist and propaganda speaker. Dan and Dave Stolarski are the guitar players, and brothers. Jon Matle plays bass and acts a-fool, and the Chad Kemp plays drums, and is essentially the only man’s man among us.

Get ready for something you’ve never witnessed before!
- Jay Scott

First of all thank you for your time, and how are you doing today?
It’s my pleasure! I am actually doing great! Getting ready for my album release on August 17th.

For those who don’t know who you are tell us about you:
Well my name is Jay Scott. I am a singer/songwriter/producer/pianist. I have a strong passion for music and have had it every since I can remember.

What first got you interested in doing music?
I grew up in church and both my mother and grandmother always sang solos, and I’ve always admired their gifts and how they used them to magnify a greater being. That to me was just awesome. It was so powerful and moving. That was my motivation and my inspiration to pursue music as a career.

Who? Are three people that inspire you?
Well for one hands down is Kobe Bryant, since I am a ball player (or ex college ball player) he’s a real role model in my daily, I love his drive & his ability to look past what everyone thinks or says about him and he just does him gotta admire someone like that,” fuck what a hater got to say“. Second would be my older brother because without his guidance these past couple of months living in LA I would’ve seriously lost myself, he always puts shit back into prospective for me & I love him for it.
Last is myself, I’m constantly reaching out & finding inspiration myself. Nobody pushes me like Killuh B.

What? Was the best weed you’ve ever smoked?
The best weed I ever smoked (even though I quit smoking weed recently) would have to be “GODfather purple“a homie gave me a couple grams of it after a photoshoot and I remember rolling up and sitting on the computer being stuck… I couldn’t move for hours, I was so high I couldn’t even think about eating. The best weed is when you’re able to be productive.

When? Do you think Mario will stop saving the princess?
Mario will never stop saving the princess, there’s so many ways to answer this question so I will give you two answers:
1. Men love pussy 2. He’s a good man.

Where? Do you see your self in 10 years?
10 years, is a little to far for me to think to, I don’t like to share my ten year plan only because I’m not sure & because I don’t wanna jinx my dream but lets just say fall 2010 and winter 2011 ima be making alot of good things happen. You will not be disappointed.

Why? Do you think art comes so easy for some but not others?
Its a god given talent, for some art is blessed within them for others they have to learn & study it and for many they will never achieve it or understand its form or meaning or depth.
