I want to learn to tattoo. jaded. shy for awhile. I’ll treat you as you treat me. blunt and honest. sarcastic. dork. sweetheart. introspective. neurotic. no patience for stupid people, bullshit, or liars. generally disappointed. surprise me.

For those who don’t know tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Kristi, also known as Vera on GodsGirls. I’m 25 years old, an artist; I love history and art… the 2 best things in the world. Then would be music and reading. I’m kind of a big nerd. And I LOVE tattoos, I hope to be an artist someday.

l_69494096ac186e2178485ff07808bf3eWhich tattoo was your first? Why did you get it?
My first one is the Celtic knot on my upper back. Ha-ha I know I know. I had gotten a chunk of money when I turned 18 and hadn’t ever thought about what I wanted so I did the typical walk into a shop and picked a design off the wall. They ripped me off hardcore too. I got it just to get a tattoo. I don’t necessarily hate it or not like it now, but would I choose to get it now? No.

Which tattoo would you say is the closest to your heart? Why?
Probably the piece of Sailor Jerry flash on my left arm above my elbows ditch. It’s a horseshoe with daisies and has “Daisey” written in the banner, she was my dog I had for 14 years. We had to put her down last winter. Still upsets me to talk about her. I’m tearing up right now ha-ha. She was my best friend and I miss her terribly.

What would you say is your motivation for getting your tattoos?
I like the esthetic of them. Ever since I was a kid I thought they were the coolest things. I aim for a body suit one day. Probably will exclude my face though.

If you could choose any tattoo artist to tattoo you, whom would you choose? And Why?
Right now i’m dying to get work from Derek noble at lucky devil tattoo in Seattle Washington. His artwork just amazes me; I can sit and stare at his watercolors for hours and hours. He has a definite style and is extremely talented. He’s my favorite artist in general right now. I want him to do a half sleeve on my left leg, I don’t have it totally planned out but it will be the knight’s templar. I want him to do his thing so I wont ever plan it out, that’s his job :)

l_58d3d3622a789c1c060eb70303d85b13What type of tattoo or what trend of tattoo are you not interested in?
I don’t like biomechanical, I hate new school, and “tribal”. I put that in quotes because what the general population thinks is tribal is what I don’t like. REAL tribal tattoos are beautiful. The art is completely different, do your research and you’ll see what I mean.

What advice would you give to someone getting his or her first tattoo?
Think about it, you are stuck with it the rest of your life. And think about where you want to go with your tattoos in the future. So don’t get a little tramp stamp then later in life want a beautiful back piece. Same with a sleeve. Tattoo removal is way more expensive and painful than the actual tattoo; you don’t want to have to go through that. Not everything can be covered up completely, my one cover-up you can still see the old tattoo underneath, and it bugs me, alot.

What made you want to become a tattoo artist? And what would be your medium (black grey, color, etc.)
I’ve always been into art my whole life. I took every art class in high school 3 times just so that id always is in a class. I went to museums and read books about all the great artists over time since I was a child. I’ve also loved tattoos most of my life, so the two kind of go hand in hand. I love hanging out in shops, I love meeting artists, and I love watching artists tattoo, I love seeing all the art, I love creating the art, and I love hearing the stories and the history. It’s a community I’d love to be a part of and hopefully someday will be. It’s a man’s world, being a woman makes it a little harder. It doesn’t intimidate me; it motivates me to work even harder. Right now i’m most interested in traditional tattoos. Most of my tattoo artwork stems from traditional influences. But at least in my case, i’m forever evolving. 10 years down the road I might be more into another style. Traditional is the best to start with; the designs are generally clean and simple. But just because they’re simple doesn’t mean they’re easy to draw, I struggle with some things and have a lot to learn. But I have a good foundation, just must keep plugging away.

How big are your lobes? And what other piercing do you have?
My lobes are 1 3/8″. An odd size, they refuse to be 1 1/2″. I’ve tried 3 times but they always freak out and I have to downsize back to 1 3/8″. And the only other piercing I have are my 12g conches. I’ve had a lot in the past… septum, Monroe, nipples, nostril, medusa, helix industrial, tragus, navel… I think that’s all ha-ha piercing just aren’t my thing, I appreciate them on other people but they’re not for me.

What made you want to be a Godsgirl?
I’m pretty open and have no problems with nudity; it’s a natural thing. And when I was younger, I thought it was something I wanted to do so I started shopping around the different alt porn sites. It was probably around 2006 when gods girls first came out, I was like damn, all those girls are so beautiful, the photos and photographers are all amazing and talented. I want to be a part of that, but at the time didn’t have the confidence to try. But I did a short time later.

What made you pick Godsgirls over Suicidegirls?
The big secret is, I was actually signed to suicide girls before I worked for gods girls. I shot one set for suicide and it was horrible, the whole experience with them was horrible. I had applied to both sites at the same time and was immediately accepted by suicide, where it took over a year to hear back from gods girls. I had always said I would only do the naked thing if it was with gods girls but I didn’t have the confidence in myself and thought GG would never accept me. So I did the one set with SG and was DONE with them. So it never went on the site and I experienced first hand why they suck so much ha-ha. Then luckily awhile later I got an email from Annaliese asking me to join GG and I was soooooo excited and surprised. Gods Girls is just hands down higher quality in their content, their models, and much better to work for. The community is much tighter and the girls are actually active and interact with the members. Its a fun and magical place :)

Any, last words for the people that are reading this right now?
Join gods girls, you won’t regret it! You’ll make a whole bunch of hot new girlfriends you get to see naked whenever you want :) also check out Chris Hunter at Alki beach tattoo and mike barker at admiral tattoo, both in Seattle Washington. They’re rad guys and do awesome tattoo work.
