Apparently, Occasional Superstar invited Fahamu Pecou to Paint, Sketch or Draw…Blood! to put the beef to rest but was snubbed when Fahamu had his own event at Lyons Wier Gallery in New York. OS took it personal and now has issued a challenge to Fahamu. What will become of this?

Last Saturday, was the 2nd WWAF Art Battle called “Paint, Sketch, or Draw….. Blood”, which was put together by Fabian OccasionalSuperstar and was held at the Stuart McClean Art Gallery in Atlanta.
Hosted by: Sean Falyon, with DJ Cha-Cha Jones on the tables spinning the good tunes, it was a great night from the ladies with the best intros to their battle, the heckler with the “Boooo’s” all night or the woman with the *cough cough* assets, it was not to be missed.
Loads of unique pieces were seen that night and I cannot wait for the next one.

After the jump are photos that were taken by the talented miss Carla Lopez at whoiscarla.com.

I am your kinkinerd intellectual.”
- Carla Aaron-Lopez

For those who don’t know tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am the people’s intellectual. I am an artist. Most days, I am a Southern young lady. Other days, I’m an Afropunk.

Which tattoo was your first? Why did you get it?
Two large irises on my upper right arm. I got it because I thought I would look cool and gangsta. I’m cool but at 26, I’m no gangster.

Which tattoo would you say is the closest to your heart? Why?
The tattoo “Los Angeles” on my collarbone. It’s closest to my heart, literally and I love my second city. Living in LA with my mom since I was nine years old was an inspiration for who I would become overtime.

We’re young. We get drunk, we have sex, we party, we do drugs, we cheat/steal/lie, we really do whatever the fuck we want. We’re rebels.”

For those who don’t know tell us a little about yourself and how you guys met:
Corey Davis and A.ware, we first met in high school. I used to buy weed from A.ware on the school bus in the morning, but I didn’t know he made music. One day I did a track where I was tongue twisting, and everyone was like “You need to do a song with A.ware, he raps fast too.” So later that week I invited him to the studio with me and he murdered it. Before I knew it, we had become best friends. Pretty much, we’ve always been eye-to-eye on what type of music were going to make, what a particular song is about, what our image is and what we want to accomplish.

I’ve always wanted to interview her; she is a NC/Los Angeles native that walks on the soil of the Atlanta introducing Carla Aaron Lopez. A photographer, an artist, and an intellectual soul, with the success of her art showcase “My (black) American Life” at the City of Ink. It was an art show that featured photos centered on her life the people of color she comes across in her life.
