Never heard of a female refer or call herself Cornbread but Richelle L. Brown does. Definitely has a style of her own that I know of. I can’t really compare her to any artist. At first, I thought maybe Chrisette Michele or Jill Scott
from her picture to depict what type of artist she was before listening but nope, not at all. She’s an electro funk artist and she indeed has a funky sound.
The mixtape consists of 4 tracks, not including the intro. The intro basically gives a clear description of who Richelle L. Brown is and how to keep up with her latest.
Now onto Richelle’s review. In my opinion, she’s a good artist. Definitely got her own sound and style judging from the cover of the mixtape.
She has a soulful sound that kind of reminds me of Amerie. Not comparing those 2 together because they’re styles is obviously different. But, at moments, when listening to the track, “Swagga Black Country Queen”, Amerie came to mind. So, that one I liked and “Super Funky Sounds”. Both tracks are really live and got that jumpy dance feel. She, I think, would do great live.
Only thing about “Super Funky Sounds” was a part where she was chanting, “We came to party till we can’t no more, if you ain’t come to party take your lame ass home” it reminded me of the Fergie’s – Glamorous track of the Dutchess Album, where Fergie said, “If you ain’t go no money take your broke self home”. Still loved it though.
The last 2 tracks “Electric Funky Girl” and “Riot (Greedy, Cruel, Deeds)” were nice too. “Riot” chorus is catchy some. Everything was creativity including the production. I likes.
4.2 stars out of 5.

Bringing back true moxie and funk to the music sphere. Richelle L. Brown is that missing energy. Crowned the new queen of Electro Funk Dance Music, a passionate singer, songwriter and performer birthed from that gritty red clay and southern spunk of what we innately call Georgia . Richelle L. Brown joins the movement of retro songstresses that are invading the hyperspace experience. Similar to the Acid Jazz wave of the 90’s that garnered such artist as Nadea Davenport; Richelle L. Brown is that new funk.
